Family Tree / Fragment #1 – 2011
soundscape for choreography

This contemporary dance project by/with/about and for theatre performer Chiara Bersani stems from her encounter with choreographer/dancer Riccardo Buscarini. Although their languages, backgrounds and approach to theatre are different, what unites them is a strong friendship, the curiosity of exploring each other’s medium, the desire for exchange and dialogue. In this first chapter of the broader project Family Tree Chiara reflects on her own body as a link between past and present, family and self. Family Tree / Fragment #1 is the winner of Premio Prospettiva Danza 2011, Padua/IT.

Keep your hands off – 2009/10
animation and soundtrack

This work brings back to life some Russian Avant-garde paintings from last century in form of a virtual exhibition. The sequence in which the paintings are revealed emphasizes their visual contrast and is further supported by sonic contrast, each painting being assigned different musical sources, in close relation with the aesthetics of the Russian Avant-garde music and visual concepts. The DVD was produced in 2010 by Araba Fenice Art Gallery, Cagliari, featuring Pawel Stec on motion graphic design.

Mountain View – 2009
music for animation

To realise a cortronico over Sebastiano Dessanay’s minimal music is not an easy task: the variated reiteration of sonic elements brings to reiterate visual syntagms which variations do not move on an homogeneous level’. These words by sardinian artist Tonino Casula describe his Mountain View using music by Sebastiano. The double bass duets constitute sonic elements that highly inspire visual movements.

In a rush – 2008
10 seconds electronic short

A call for composers from Swedish composer Johann Eriksson led to the realisation of this ten seconds short which was selected and then included in the Volume 2 of the Monolog X compilation Shortcore available online at www.myspace.com/monologx.
Music source is an overdubbed recording of eight double basses played by Sebastiano which was then manipulated and edited.

The orchestrated version has been arranged and recorded by Alessandro Coronas in 2008.
